Another week!

The animals just got done opening their stockings. They get so excited by the new toys and treats. Today, I did a short swim of 1250 yards as the gym had holiday hours. I plan to lift weights at home.

The past week was another busy one. I worked Monday night and then had meetings all day on Tuesday. Monday's workout consisted of lifting weights. I had a good workout considering the lack of sleep. I worked Tuesday night and again had meetings all day on Wednesday.

Tuesday, run was nice with the warmer temps; I did 5.2 miles.

Wednesday, I lifted weights and again had a good workout.

Thursday, I ran 3 quick miles and then did a pool workout with a combination of swimming, water running, and strength building exercises.

Friday, I attended Don's spinning class, which is always an experience. I maxed out the resistance on the bike during the hill climbs. Spinning class was a great workout.

Saturday, I did a ten mile run that felt like 20! Running from St. Louis Park, the route consisted of rolling hills. The snow was fluffy until the snow plow came through and covered the sidewalks with icy chunks making the terrain very uneven. I don't know what was worst the achiness while running or the achiness when you stopped.

Sunday, I went to spinning class. The class had a good mix of sprinting and hill climbing. A instructor, whom I'm not familiar with had taught the class.

I hope to rest up this week as work should be pretty relaxed. Oh....I can't forget! My bike came in! I hope to make to Gear West this week to pick it up, yay!!!!

Better week of workouts

It was a much better week-my cold seems to be getting better. Tuesday, I did a short swim with a total of 600 yards and then a short 2 mile run to follow.

Wednesday, I went to spinning class. The focus of the class was endurance-remaining in zone 2. Cycle class seems to fly by, which is a big change. I may actually start to enjoy cycling.

Thursday, I did a 6.2 mile run. The run started out okay, however it was extremely COLD! The wind had really picked up on the way back. I am really looking forward to some warmer weather-they say possibly this week.

Friday, I did a 45 minute swim-again with a focus on endurance. My stroke felt off-probably because of the lack of swimming I have done in the past couple of weeks.

Saturday, again another cold and icy run. Four miles felt like twenty miles-I couldn't run fast enough, although Shadow had a great time!

Sunday, A big workout day! I couldn't bear another cold run, so I did 10 miles on the treadmill. I don't know what is worst cold or BORING! I finished the days workouts with spinning class. Again the focus of the spinning class was endurance with rolling hills.

Classes are done for the semester-Yay! I finished my last final today! It will be nice to have a little more free time the next couple of weeks. Next, semester starts up in January-the I week I returned from Florida. The plan is to only take 6 credits spring and summer; then to return to full time following the Ironman.

Still have a cold:(

Workouts on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday were skipped as I was still under the weather. Thursday was my last on-site class for the semester; I'm so happy!

Friday, I went to spinning class with Don and ran 2.5 miles on the treadmill. Sunday, I did a sixteen mile run on the treadmill(you know that I sick as I HATE running on the treadmill). I then went to spinning class with Marcia.

Today's plan is to lift weights.

I finally got on my trainer!

My workouts have been pretty mild the past couple of days as I have been fighting a cold. Friday, I finally gave my trainer a try! I have decided that I'm a people workout junkie. The thirty minutes I spent on the trainer were tragic-I was a clock watcher and a second counter.

Saturday, I intended on running-I maybe got a half mile run in, although I had a great walk in the snow to Space Aliens with Liz and Stef to find out it was closed because of the weather. Last I checked I think that we live in Minnesota-so why were they closed with only maybe 5 inches of snow on the ground.

Sunday-I woke up feeling miserable! Sore throat, achy, horrible, HORRIBlE, and HORRIBLE! I went to Target and stocked up on cold medications and kleenex, then spent the rest of the day in bed. I did force myself to get on the trainer for a hour-as if I didn't feel crappy enough, but then I bored myself to death! I just don't like the trainer, but I will keep at it.

Monday, again day in bed following a restless night with a 101.9 temp:( I continued with the cold medications, immunity tea, Zicam. I made it to the gym for a weightlifting workout-I kept it light as I wasn't feeling great.

Today (Tuesday), I haven't had a chance to get a workout in as I have tons of homework to do before I head down to Mankato on Thursday. Today, I had to meet with the magnet surveyors which went really well. We had a closing gathering as one last chance to express to the magnet people our thoughts about Gillette-what an emotional experience! Kleenex boxes were being passed around as people were telling their story about how Gillette affected their lives-it was really cool and proud to be part of such a great organization.
