I felt great today's of 9.3 miles down at the lakes. It was quite windy, however the sun felt great! I hope that this is the start of the a sunny warm season.
My plan for tomorrow is swim and get my bike out on the roads.

I had a week of great workouts!!!! Monday, I did my first brick of the training season consisting of 35 minutes cycle with 4.5 mile run. The brick went well and I felt strong.
Tuesday, I did a 6.35 mile run with an average pace of 9:36/mile.
Wednesday, I swam 2200 yards. The pool was extremely cloudy to the point that you couldn't see your hand extended in front of you. I missed the wall several times while doing flip turns. I then went to spinning class. Spinning class was kind of boring and I didn't get much out of the workout.
Thursday, I did a quick 5 mile run with the guys from the run club-average pace was 8:36/mile.
Friday, I was really looking forward to getting into the pool today, as I am feeling stronger in the water. I went to the club and the pool was closed-bummer. I should have swam after class in Mankato. I did take Shadow for a nice long walk and did power cleaning instead. Hopefully the pool will be open tomorrow, so that I can get in after my run.
I did pull out my cycling books today and started to map out rides. I hope to get my bike off the trainer and make it down to Gear West this week to get a tune up.

Thursday, I had the worst run I have had in years! The winter bugs seems to be a huge problem. I did manage to get 5.11 miles in that day.
Friday, I skipped my swim however attended spin class. Spin class went well and I felt good. I ended up spinning for 1:15.
Saturday, I did a 8.25 mile run to the dam from LTF. The run went well and I felt strong! I even climbed a tree!!!!
Today, The pool is nasty-it is sooooo cloudy you can't even see your hand in front of you. I did 2300 yards and it went well and I felt very strong in the water. I then attended spinning class . It was a great class tonight! We did pyramids-today's spin class was challenging and a good workout.
My workout hours for the week total was 7:50, with a goal of 8:05.

Monday's workout consisted of an hour on the trainer-boring! I went to a triathlon clinic on overuse injuries and transitions Monday night. The PT that spoke seemed to be pretty good, except that he was continuously interrupted by a man with his million pain aliments. I didn't get much out of the speaker on transitions, as she geared her speech towards the very beginner.
Early Tuesday morning, while at work I came down with a stomach bug. I almost had to pull over to the side of the road on my way home. I spent all day in bed or on the toilet.
Today, I woke up still not feeling very well. I did a short 3 mile run and felt like I was going to puke:(
I hope to make up my swim workout tomorrow. I'm hoping it will warm up soon to burn off all the winter bugs brewing.

I made it through spinning class on Friday with only a few coughing attacks. I did get in the pool for a short swim of 700 yards prior to spinning.
Saturday's run was along the River Road in St. Paul. It was a little chilly however I warmed up quickly. I had a few coughing attacks at the beginning of the run but once my body got warmed up I was fine. I did 6.1 miles at a pretty good pace.
Sunday's workout consisted of a 1800 yard swim. I felt pretty good although my stroke felt a little off. I then on my bike and did some spinning for 45 minutes. I had a lot of coughing during my biking workout.
Overall, I feel my routine is getting back to normal. I did a total of 6:04 hours of workout for the week-only 6 minutes short of my goal.

Feeling Strong-NOT this week!
My last addition to the blog was titiled "Feeling Strong"-that feeling was short lived as I have knocked off my feet into my bed with a cold. It all started last Thursday when I felt a little cough coming on-I didn't venture far from my bed Friday-Monday. I had attempted a couple workout which were short lived by the massive coughing attacks. So several days later, almost two boxes of kleenex, and two bags of cough drops-I finally made it through a complete class of spinning. I only had a couple short coughing episodes, when my heart rate got over 155-progress! I still haven't been back to work though-tomorrow night will be the test.
I am feeling a lot better although I still have a cough. I am excited about the warmer weather-hopefully the themometer continues to go in the direction of up. I did get Shadow out for a short walk yesterday-she has been going crazy being cooped up for the past week.
Tomorrow, I hope to get a short run in with the run club-No Head Lamps Allowed! Depending on the bod-maybe I will attempt a swim as well.
I am eager to get back to my routine or consistent training.

Feeling strong!
I haven't been very good about keeping this site lately-I need to do better!
I have had a week a of great workouts! Last week I was feeling a little tired and unmotivated and this week has been a different story.
Last Sunday's run was about 10 miles (7.5 on the Coon Creek Trail and 2.5 on the treadmill). Excited to know that the days are starting to get longer and this our spring ahead week-now the warmer weather can show up! Sunday's run was through the mist, although being chilled afterward, it's soooooo fun to run in the mist. Following the run I went to spinning class. I did a lot of clock watching during the class-maybe it was the music or I'm just sick of being cooped up in stuffy room with Richard Simmons look alike hooting and hollering.
Monday, I did a test run on the treamill. A test of endurance/strength that included a maintained speed and invtervals of multiple elevations. I have done this workout once a month since November. My speed was increased again and I felt great (hardly a challenge, what can I saw I'm going to be an Ironman!) Following my run, I headed to the pool. I felt great in the pool-strong and smooth-a powerful machine. I did 2800 yards. I did have some cramping in calves during my last two 250 yard swims of the set-need bananas, potatos, or maybe sport beans.
Tuesday, I ran with run club-again doing the Coon Creek trail and small amount in the neighborhood. I felt great on my run, however my legs are a little tight from the Monday's cramping in the pool. I need to replace my shoes too!
Today, I just finished a hour on the trainer. I still am much of a clock watcher when on the bike. I had a good workout consisting of climbing and sprints.
