Time goes by so fast! Last week I was fighting a cold which made each workout difficult. I felt that I was drowning on my swims and couldn't breath during the bike/run workouts. Thankfully, the cold was short lived!

Yesterday, I swam 200 yards-stroke was off! I then went to spinning class with Marcia. I ended up combining the workout sent by my coach and Marcia's workout; focusing on a steady heartrate. The class was a combination of seated climb with a standing climb.

Saturdays workout consisted of a 8.2 mile run at the Coon Rapids Dam. I had a chance to run with my running friends from the running club. We saw 10 deer on the run too!

Friday, I swam a total of 2400 yards and felt fabulous! My stroke was super smooth and strong. This was probably the best swim I have had since my training.

Thursday, I had class in Mankato so my workout was done early in the morning. My workout consisted of a 5 mile run on the "dreadmill." I can't wait until it warms up!

Wednesday, I did a five mile run on the treadmill. I skipped the swim workout due to my cold and a restless night of sleeping.

Tuesday, Run club was canceled due to the cold. I did a 3.2 mile run on the treadmill and then went to spinning class.

Monday, I did some spinning on my new bike. I can't wait until I can get out on the roads!

Tuesday's workouts consisted of a swim and a run. I felt pretty strong in the water, however I feel cold coming on. I had cut my swim 700 yards short. I did an easy easy run with the run club.

Wednesday,
I finished the 700 yards that I cut short from my swim the previous day. Interesting enough-a guy in the pool made a comment on my short swim. I then went to spinning class and according to the instructor I earned the right to brag about getting to zone 5 three times during the class. My bike workout was a total of 1:20.

Following spinning class I came home and slept-10-hours-trying to kick the cold before it gets too bad. See I do sleep!

Today,
I took Shadow for long awaited run-we did 45 minutes in the newly fallen snow. The run will keep her energy level controlled for about a half hour and then she will be chasing Joey around the house again:)

I have been riding the rollercoaster over the past couple weeks-from working, training, hospital visits, and school. Owen is proving to be the fighter he is and looking stronger everyday. Training has been going well and I am managing to keep up with the workouts. I am feeling stronger with every workout, however am looking forward to warm weather again. Today was a rest day for me-I had a hard time resting! Over the past week my totals were: Swim=4200 yards, Run 17.2 miles, cross country skiing 2.5 miles, and biking on trainer/spinning class; totaling 7:41 hours of training.
